After opening a case with Dell/EMC we managed to find the issue - server was in the storage group, but not logged in - and fix it. I opened a case with Symantec, who connected into the system and found that we had an issue with the EMC SAN not being seen by the new backup server, and PowerPath/Disk Manager were empty. VixDiskLib_Open() reported the error: One or more required subsystems failed to initialize V-79-57344-38277 - Unable to open a disk of the virtual machine.
